Om Shanti Review
Rating: 2.5/5Apart from the 5 different srories involved in the same script, the other fact that is dragging tollywood audience to theatres is the character RJ Maddy. This character is played by a very popular actor and the film makers are making good money by keeping the actor as suspense.
Story:
It starts with the plans made by terrorist groups in Bangalore to attack Hyderabad. They make 5 plots and each plot is shown consecutively. The first plot involves Navdeep and Aditi Sharma as lovers. The second plot has over acting Kajal and RJ Maddy. RJ Maddy is always available on his show only to boost Kajal. Plot three includes Struggling Nikhil who aspires to become the next Ravi Teja. Plot four has Old guy Murali Mohan whose reluctant son sells off their ancestral fields for his jolly life. Plot five shows Bindu Madhavi, a sister of the gut who prepares bombs for terrorists. In between, police officers, played by Kishore and Prakash try tracking the terrorists. The movvie has a happy ending with the union of these 5 plots.
Artist Performence:
All the artistes performed excellently. Prakash, who was last seen in Morning Raga excelled in the negative role. The story also has comedy by Sunil and Nikhil. The credit definitely goes to director Prakash. In spite being his debut direction, he left us all without any negative comments to make.
Adurs Review
Rating: 3.25/5Story:
Surely Jr. Ntr made a comeback with Adurs. The story is about two twins Narasimha and Narasimha Chary who get separated soon after their birth. While Narasimha Chary is an innocent Priest, Narasimha is a daring guy whose aim in life is to attack Mafia gangs and make peace. While Narasimha romances Sheela , Chary romances Chandrakala played by Nayanatara who is actually liked by Chary s Guru Bhattacharya played by Brahmanandam. The twist is that a gang headed by Ashish Vidhyarthi is in search of Narasimha, reason being unknown till climax.
Artistes Performance:
Ntr gave outstanding performance as always both as Narasimha and Narasimha Chary. Be it his Dance, his dialogue delivery, voice modulation, comic roles or fiery action, Tarak gave his best.
Nayanatara and Sheela must have been roped in only for their glamour and thosu sensuous expressions.
Brahmananadam was the king of comedy in this flick but not to forget Raghu Babu and M.S Narayana s comedy!!!!
Analysis:
Overall, Adurs is a light hearted comedy action entertainer that definitely made the film makers V.V Vinayak, Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan, and Nani and crew proud.
Shambo Shiva Shambo Review
Rating: 3/5If the combination is Belamkonda Suresh's Production and artists like Ravi Teja, Allari Naresh, Siva Balaji and Priyamani performing, one can expect the film to be a runway hit.
Story:
The film is about three close friends Karunakar, Malli and Chandra played by Ravi Teja, Naresh and Balaji Respectively who are cared by their parents. These three have their own aims to achieve. If Karunakar is aiming to be a government employee to win his uncle and his daughter Munemma played by Priyamani s heart, Malli strives to go abroad and Chandra has plans of owning a computer training center. All izz well till the entry od Karunakar s friend Santosh s (Surya Tej) entry. Santosh is in love with Prabha. The reason that creates problem is that both belong to political families and the parents are against their love.
Rest of the story deals with whether the friends succeed in getting these two marry and what circumstances they face because of Santosh.
Analysis:
All artistes gave their best performances and though being his Debut direction, Samudra Khani deserves a hit.
Sitaramula Kalyanam Review
Rating: 2.5/5Nitin and Hansika's Sitaramula Kalyanam hit the theatres on 22nd of this month and here is the review.
Story:
The story is about a dashing guy of the city who rescues his love. The movie will show Nitin in the role of Chandu who is a easy going guy and falls in love with Nandini played by Hansika. The action sequence starts with the entry of Sunil Panda in Nandinis life who is the daughter of Peddi Reddy a factionist played by Suman. The rest of the story revolves around the efforts made by the hero to rescue his love from the hands of Sunil Panda.
Artist Performances:
Nitin played a descent role and the dance was also well appreciated by the viewers.
Hansika did it again. She made the audience go gaga with her glamour and oomph factor.
Sunil Panda gave his best in playing the negative role. His physique and body language was an add-on.
Bhramanandam should definitely say that the comedian is accepting every silly role that comes his way. His comedy and character were average in the movie.
Technical department:
The audio was good. Better could be the scope for the script and screenplay.
Analysis:
The movie received the hype due to the reasons that Nitin is the only Telangana Hero and is considered now as Telangana megastar. The movie went slow and the scenes weren’t appealing. The comedy was average and background music was okay.:
Namo Venkatesa Review
Namo Venkatesa Review Rating: 3.5/5Srinu Vaitla's Direction, Venky- Trisha's pair with comedian like Brahmanandam surely made Namo Vankatesha a blockbuster.
Story:
The story is surely about Venkatesh playing Venkataramana whose only unfulfilled widh is his Marrige. He is accompanied by his Hilarious Uncle Paris Prasad played by Brahmannadam and attends the European Telugu Association Celebrations where he meets his lady love Pooja played By Trisha. Brahmanandam bluffs Venkata Ramana that Pooja loves him and that makes acmedy part. But the tragic part is that Pooja s marriage is already fixed with a factionist Bhadrappa played by the handsome Subbaraju. The rest of the story is how the hero wins his Lady Love.
Artist Performances:
Venkatesh-Venky was outstanding throughout the movie. His character is well portrayed and his contribution is to the fullest
Trisha-Trisha's character lacked the energy and her role is like the one on most of the movies.
Bhramhanadam-his comedy is hilarious and bone tickling. He did a good job
Analysis:
The movie is a family entertainer and little less demanding than Vaitlas earlier films. The music could have been better. Thumbs up for Namo Venkatesha.
Bindaas Movie Review
Rating: 3/5Manchu Manoj Kumar and Sheena starrer ‘Bindaas’ has hit the screens. The film comes with a tagline ‘Ajay Gaadi Vijaya Gaadha’.

Subject:
Bindaas’ is about a conventional and political/faction row between two families set on the backdrop of Chittoor. And the movie recites how hero eliminates all the difference and brings back both families together.
Mahendra Naidu (Ahuti Prasad) and Seshadri Naidu (Jaya Prakash Reddy) are bitter faction enemies (both belong to same political party), who always aim to assassinate each other. Mahendra family is estranged from conventional Rayalaseema family. Ajay (Manoj) hails from Mahendra Naidu family and the story spin around how a spirited Ajay could break down all the differences.
Performances:
Manoj
Manoj Kumar Manchu looked very agile and spirited and has brought lot of life to the character with lively performance. This is a character that he has not donned hitherto. His body language, dialogue and expressions in hilarious sequences are good and he’s all poised to entertain in a commercial cinema in the endeavor.
Sheena
Her debut film has thrown weight behind her cute and innocent looks. Albeit there’s fair bit of skin show in songs, we have to say that she’s done fairly well.
Others
Brahmanandam, M S Narayana, Sunil, Mastar Bharat, and Raghu Babu lent some comedy to their perfection. Jaya Prakash Reddy and Ahuti Prasad were adequate in their seasonal faction roles.
Emphasis
Producer Anil Sunkara should be commended for good production values and Director Veeru Potla for his writing competencies. Manoj’s antics are pretty good and were well crafted by the Director. However, Bobo Sashi’s songs and Ramesh Babu’s Cinematography perhaps didn’t garner the required thump.
Analysis:
‘Bindaas’ comes with an age old plotline. The director’s attempt to plunge a comical flick is something to be contemplated. He accentuated more on dialogues and comedy rather. Albeit the first half of the movie is alright, the characters and the links were not well established and the director has taken as much time for this.
The second half slightly picks up the momentum with Brahmanandam, M S Naryana and Raghu Babu’s comedy taking the centre stage since the story line is anticipated. The climax could have been better since the story becomes predictable.
The Heroine, Music and Cinematography have something to contemplate and should have been better. Like cited earlier, the ‘Bindaas’ script has not nothing new in store, however, the director scored in picturizing some entertaining scenes. There are also some good commercial elements in the film to toll out. All in all, the movie is a decent entertainer with Manoj scoring many marks.
Striker Movie Review

Siddharth’s new film ‘Striker’ has hit the theatres with great expectations. Let’s take a review about the film.

Story:
Striker is a film in the backdrop of Malwani slums of Mumbai during 1980. Surya (Siddharth) hails from a poor family and turns a carom champion at 12, after being deceived for a job in Dubai. He’s then falls in Zaid’s (Ankur Vikal) company his childhood friend, who in turn introduces to Jaleel (Aditya Pancholi) and frequents his carom club. Incidentally, Jaleel is also a gangster of Malwani carrying illegal businesses.
Amidst this, Noorie (Nicolette Bird) becomes Surya’s neighbor and cheers up his life. And Surya decides to lock horns with Jaleel in his own backyard. Striker’ also has some sequences pertaining to December 6, 1992 Babri Masjid demolishing. The story subsequently explains how through the excruciating pain of frightful survival, Surya discovers himself.
Performances:
Siddharth, as expected is exceptional as Surya and we all know that he did lot ground work for this character. But he doesn’t sport a slum or massy look, no matter what’s his attires are, but he covered it up well with his performance.
Aditya Pancholi looks too good to sport a poisonous villain and he needs to be commended for his spirited performance as the gang leader. Albeit has gone past his prime. He’s done a great job. Anupam Kher is seen in a sublime role as Inspector.
Nicollete Bird is looking very good; Ankur Vikal looks like a typical Mumbai Tapori, but could have done better. Padma Priya is dusky and is alright her small roles. Vidya Malvade and Seema Biswas were pretty convincing. Anoop Soni and Noorie have done pretty well.
Analysis:
The film gives the impression as if it was shot in misty conditions. Perhaps to resemble the mafia meeting rooms. The dialogues are pathetic many a times to the extent that it can make you recoil. The film is utterly baffling at some stage. And the rape scene gives you the goose bumps. Every now and then, you might just get the feeling that scenes are being dragged and taking time.
The casting has been pretty alright, but a technician of Chandan Arora’s caliber could have done really better, particularly in script. But he has proved his desire to make different cinema with his earlier. And this is not a good follow up for Siddharth after his ‘Rang De Basanti’.
The first half is so so, but the second half is a touch vicious and insistent. Audience might lose interest as the script hops without any links. The completely loses grip on entertainment and thus it might cater to selective category.
Kedi Review
The Nagarjuna starrer “Kedi” finally hit the theatres to high expectations given that Nagarjuna’s last offering “King” released way back in 2008. Kedi lives up to the hype to a very large extent given its interesting storyline that’s backed by a solid performance by Nagarjuna. It’s a Nag show all the way and he single-handedly carries the film in his own inimitable style!!!
Story:
Ramesh, whose nickname is Rummy, gets into love with his friend Janaki in childhood itself. They spend good time together but Janaki advises him to grow powerful in society by earning big money. She also tells that she would marry him only then.
Rummy (Nagarjuna) becomes a gambler and starts earning. He betrays the men those become rich by false means through his gambling. ACP Sekhar (Sayaji Shinde) plans to catch Rummy but his attempts fail every time.
Rummy attracts Chandra (Ankur) who runs a pub and gambling in it. He settles a smuggling deal with Rummy and accomplishes that. In the meanwhile, in Goa, Rummy wins the heart of Linda (Nadia) as he saves her sister Sara (Poula) from a cruel man called Victor. Linda proposes to Rummy but he negates it.
On the other hand, Sandhya (Mamta Mohandas) helps Rummy in his missions. Who is Sandhya and what happened to Janaki? That is the suspense thread in the film that gets revealed in the climax.
Performances:
Nagarjuna excelled as usual and there is no point to criticize him anywhere. He is looking younger year by year and that stands to be his USP.
Mamata Mohandas is just ok. She could have shined better being a glamorous quotient on silver screen. Costumes and make up could be better.
Brahmanandam brought many hopes whenhe entered but more was expected from him. Harshavardhan did good job.
Others are ok. Ankur in bad guy character did his best.
Cinematography is good. Editing is crisp and direction is commendable. Lyricist Chinni Charan wrote all the songs in the film and all are in tune with the contemporary taste of audience. But the music could have elevated the beauty of songs.
Analysis:
Movie First half and second half go in similar tone with entertainment. The film is ideally an entertainer and so the plot runs on a very thin line, but over all Kedi is an Entertainer with a perfect screen play and it fares well with charisma of Nagarjuna in it. You can watch this film without any hesitation. This film is more of a time pass movie but not an exciting movie.
Leader Review
Clearing all the air, the much awaited Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Leader’ has hit the marquee amidst huge expectations today. Can the film live up to the expectations?Banner: AVM

Story:
Chief Minister Sanjeevayya (Suman) is killed in a landmine blast. As his last wish, he asks his US returned son Arjun Prasad (RaNa) to be the next CM. Arjun’s mother (Suhasini) after Sanjeevayya’s death, first describes Arjun about his father’s corrupt activities, and later tells him to become the next CM to cleanse the corrupted system.
Deciding to become the CM, Arjun plays all political games on one hand, and on the other hand, his cousin and ruling MLA Dhanraj, (Subbaraju), corrupt criminal, already proclaims himself as next CM to all the MLAs.
Arjun eventually wins the coveted position – CM. And later he vows to raise 1 lakh crores (black money) from all public representatives through Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) rides and distribute the money for good governance.
In his mission to change the system, Arjun faces several barriers from his own party members. How far can he sustain these political conspiracies? What’s the path he chose to succeed and make changes? And how did people respond to this transition phase forms the story.
Analysis:
After soft and romantic films like Anand, Godavari and Happy Days, Sekhar Kammula throws his weight behind political fraternity in ‘Leader’, where corruption takes the centre stage.
We saw Shankar’s ‘Oke Okadu’, Shivaji and few other films. And ‘Leader’ is nothing different. Worst – the characters and scenes are purely cinematic and not realistic.
The movie starts on a very slow pace, followed by the drama and interval. And every now and then, hero romances with the female leads. I cannot understand what was the reason behind Suhasini’s death and the scenes following her death. There’s no conclusion.
The film showcases some true incidents that took place after YSR’s death. Worst scenes being TV anchors supporting RaNa directly on air. Pre-interval scene is good and the rest of the film is pathetic and bad.
I know it’s a sincere effort by Sekhar Kammula, but the film is not convincing enough. He lost the pulse of mass audience. Sekhar Kammula’s political knowledge is not sufficient to make a film on politics and should have done more research on political system and its loopholes.
Performances:
RaNa as Arjun looks very elegant, handsome and makes a confident debut. His base voice modulation is good. He aptly fits into the character of a young CM. His on-screen appearance is class, but needs to work more on his expressions.
Although Priya Anand looks bubbly, her role is totally cinematic and unrealistic. Her role doesn’t make any sense, except for the fact that fact that she helps CM. Her romantic sequences with CM are very odd.
Richa Gangopadhyaya looks beautiful. She might have donned another character other than a journalist. At times, there is no link between CM’s acts and Richa’s gestures.
Kota Srinivas Rao was at his usual best. Subbaraju as rival politician did alright, but I really cannot understand why the director chose Subba Raju when there are so many others to pick from? Harshavardhan did a very good job as protagonist’s yes-man. Suhasini and Ahuti Prasad were alright in their roles.
Technicalities:
Technically, there are several flaws in the film. Camera work by Vijay C Kumar is nasty. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh looks like a mere formality. And I question what he was doing during some unnecessary sequences running for hours. We wonder whether Thoata Tharani’s art work has anything to do with the script. The only grace was the Music by Mickey is awe-inspiring.
The dialogues lack power. For a political subject like ‘Leader’, you must have some powerful dialogues. Comedy is zero. Romantic scenes does not make any sense.
All in all, Sekhar Kammula has disappointed me in all ways. It’s a very very poor film
