Feb 18, 2010 - Carla Gugino (Watchmen) is reuniting with her Race to Witch Mountain co-star for Faster, an action film set up at CBS Films. Gugino will be co-starring alongside Dwayne Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton and Oliver Jackson-Cohen in the drama which has been filming since the beginning of this month.

Gugino's signing comes following word that Salma Hayek left the project over scheduling conflicts.

George Tillman, Jr (Notorious) is directing from a screenplay by Joe and Tony Gayton. Martin Shafer, Liz Glotzer, Tony Gayton and Robert Teitel are producing with Joe Gayton and Dara Weintraub executive producing.

According to the press release from CBS Films, Faster finds Dwayne Johnson playing an ex-con who "sets out to avenge his brother's murder with a deadly to-do list." Gugino will be playing a detective "hot on his trail as she diligently connects details of this recent crime spree with those of the brother's decade-old killing."

Gugino recently completed work on the sports drama The Mighty Macs with Bones star David Boreanaz, the pregnant porn star story Elektra Luxx, and Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch.
